Raw materials are most often extracted from local, wind-originated Weichsel slime layers, sediments left over from the Ice Age. This substance, called lös, contains a significant fraction of muddy material and is extremely suitable for the production of hand-molded facade bricks. The desired color is obtained by using special types of sand for surface sanding.
